Evans Easyspace Go Paper Free

Evans Easyspace have launched a new online billing system in order to reduce the amount of paper the company uses. The new paperless approach uses the internet so that clients can see their invoices in a safe and secure way. Evans are encouraging their clients to take up the new service with the added benefit that they will donate £2 for each one that moves to online billing by the end of June 2008, with the money going to the Woodland Trust. Online billing is becoming more popular as businesses seek to reduce their carbon footprints and promote themselves as being ‘green’, BT are promoting their online billing by donating a tree to the Woodland Trust if you go paper free.

This is a win win for these companies, in the first instance it’s cheaper for them to have online billing and secondly they can claim that they are being green. I’m sure that some do it for the right reasons but you can’t help being cynical

While it is ‘a win win’ situation, why don’t more do it?
If it means less waste then you can’t really knock it, even if it wasn’t the primary reason for the scheme!
