Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling yesterday announced that empty property rates will be removed next April for properties valued at less than £250,000. According to Mr Darling approximately 70% of British commercial properties will be included by this value which should bring some relief to shops, offices and industrial work spaces which has been badly affected by the empty property tax this year.
